2015 Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collections

Butler County’s sponsored ongoing household hazardous waste and electronics collections will held throughout 2015 on the following dates:

January 24 (PLEASE NOTE - due to staff and time constraints
at DEP in Harrisburg, a permit to hold this collection
may not be received and this collection may need to be
cancelled or postponed)

February 21
March 21
April 18
May 16
June 6 and 27
July 18
August 15
September 19
October 3 and 24
November 21
December 19

Those who wish to attend one of these collections must call our collection contractor ECS&R toll-free at 866-815-0016 to pre-register to attend. Nominal fees will be charged for items dropped off and the program is open to all area residents, regardless of county.

Items accepted include: paint and paint products, pesticides, poisons, pool chemicals, cleaning chemicals, auto fluids, gasoline and flammable liquids, auto and household batteries, fluorescent bulbs and all types of electronics.

ONGOING ELECTRONICS RECYCLING OPTIONS

1. Goodwill (stores nationwide) will accept ONLY computers and computer equipment for free for recycling (working or non-working). Please call first before taking anything to be sure of what they are accepting. The Butler store phone number is (724) 284-1037.

2. Best Buy Electronics (stores nationwide) accept MOST types of electronics although there are some limits on the size of TV’s they will accept. Please call the Butler County store in Cranberry at (724) 778-8300 for details on what they accept.

3. Ecycling Recycling near Wexford off Route 19 accepts electronics for recycling. Call (412) 367-0831 or visit
